This article was written due to escalating number of questions concerning the "alien" hiding inside of a "Siemens" :).
Most knowlegable people will guess that we will talk about Siemens C62.
Behind the lable Siemens is hiding a SonyEricsson pcb. Everyone is still guessing whose fault is it? Is it diversion of Siemens against their loyal users, or maybe SonyEricssons against Siemens??? We will keep guessing forever :)))
One of the most frequently encountered problems with these handsets is so called 4 locks state (it is very easy to check by pressing *#0606# we will see four locks and 0 try counter), problems with quiet mic/ringer, not power up, and different problems on power on with a sim.
Also when the phone enters the four locks state its imei changes to default 099999-91-234567 (Such good argument when talking to a warranty client :))) )
For a long time no solution existed for these problems, the phones with were sent to athorised service centers. They solved the problem usually by changing the pcb :))).
This article is a step by step instruction to TRY to recover the handsets with followindg deffects. All the solutions belong to other people, and all the files and programs where taken from the free sites on the internet.

First of all we will need FlashProgrammerForSiemens v 2.83. To highlight only this version of software will allow to flash rapair GDFS into C62.
After the installation of the program we will get a pretty link on the desktop and a reason to think about some stuff :).
First of all we need to make a cable. If one has a working cable for x5x series he can transform it to c62: connect 3-5, 4-7. After that to 2 and 9 connect 12v(50ma) ( 9 + ; 2 -)
Afterwards unpack the flash pack into default folder. It will be something like HD0503-092-M. DO NOT change the folder name!!! You should put it inside the same folder where you installed the flasher.
After that start the flasher and show it the path to files and select com port. It looks like this:

The operation will be considered successful if the program will allow us to choose firmware version and customisation package.
In order to flash repair GDFS into a broken phone we need to make some more manipulations.
Repair GDFS is freely availiable online and it consists of two files with names something like this:
HD0503-092-M-000.cus
HD0503-FFS-092-M-000.SSW
Inside the folder Х:\Program Files\microcell\Flash Programmer\HD0503-092-M\cust are stored very similiar pair of files the only difference being that instead of 000 their numbers are starting from 001 till 167. Everything is very simple: delete the files with # 167. Copy our 000 files and rename to 167. That is all.
After these exercises we get the possibility in the Customisation option to choose the awaited "Repair GDFS". Since we have chosen the highest number it will be the last on the list.

Now when everything is in place we may connect the phone(powered off) to the cable, unibox etc. Connect the external power (Very carefull with choice of power source it must be 50 - 100 mA otherwise you are very likely to kill the flash chip) and press the Flash button.
We should see program window which tells us that we should restart the phone.

At this time it would be very usefull to power on the phone for a short time(the red button) and see the following picture:

Now we have 10 minutes during which we can meditate, smoke, pray whatever :).
The screen shots where taken during flash process of the phone that refused to power up so I am waiting in anticipation.
If the procedure is a success we will see the folowing picture:

Now I will try to power up the phone!
It powered on. All is good!!!!! Imei and locks are OK. :)
So this is basically how the repair procedure looks like.
It is not solution against all of the problems but it will help in a lot of cases. The phones that usually do not exit the four locks state are the ones with bad splock area. Usually result from the "wonderful" C62 Direct unlocker bu Zulea. Also this solution will not solve the sound problem if the buzzer is bad or missing and so forth :)))). But in a lot of cases it is very usefull :).
